World’s first mobile industrial CT: German tech company shows AI-supported inspection system live

Microvista from Blankenburg makes non-destructive component testing possible on site – live demonstration in November

(Blankenburg, 01.10.2025) Microvista GmbH from Blankenburg in the Harz region has developed the SCANEXPRESS, a mobile high-performance CT system that fundamentally changes industrial quality assurance. Instead of having to transport components to external test laboratories, computed tomography can now be carried out directly at the point of use – mobile, flexible and resource-friendly.

In sectors such as automotive, mechanical engineering and medical technology in particular, this opens up new possibilities: complex structures and materials can be analysed non-destructively, inspection processes accelerated and production downtimes avoided. Particularly valuable is the fact that the SCANEXPRESS enables automated inspections almost in real time, reliably handles large batches and can be flexibly rented – a decisive advantage for fast, efficient series inspections. From a sustainability perspective, the solution also brings benefits, since transport and the associated emissions are reduced.

“With the SCANEXPRESS we have created a solution that makes the most modern CT technology available in a mobile and flexible way. Our customers benefit from less logistics, lower costs and faster results,” explains Prof. Dr. Lutz Hagner, managing director of Microvista GmbH.

In November 2025, after successful customer deployments, the SCANEXPRESS will once again be on view at the Blankenburg site. This is an opportunity for editorial offices and trade journalists to gain an insight into how mobile CT systems work and how they can be used.

Key technical data at a glance:

  • Two variants available (Long & Compact)
  • Minimum voxel size down to approx. 36 µm (Long) or 50 µm (Compact)
  • Maximum energy up to 225 kV / 10 mA or 320 kV / 15 mA
  • Suitable for plastics, light and heavy metals as well as ceramics
  • Automated evaluation and report generation
  • Connectivity via LTE & satellite for flexible locations

With this innovation, Microvista demonstrates how German SMEs can set decisive impulses for the future of industrial quality assurance.
